|My name is Mary Newton. I am 47 years old. I have faithfully been working out with Karla Adams for about 10 months. I have lost 24 lbs. and I am in the best shape I have ever been in. I found out about Karla from a Loma Linda Loper Newsletter. Karla had written an article about weight training and marathon performance. I was having trouble with my performance, energy and after the marathons I had done I couldn’t lose weight. I was spinning my wheels. I decided to call Karla!|
First of all, I learned about diet. I started that day. I wouldn’t call it a diet but rather a life change. I started weight training. Karla also helped me with cardio training. Not only have I lost weight, improved on my marathons, I have toned my body. The weight training has made me stronger. I go to the gym with confidence now. Karla has helped me with my self-esteem, posture and a lot more than the physical aspects of exercise. Knowing Karla has been a life changing experience and I am glad to know her. I have to say, in the beginning I had my doubts. I was so weak. I remember our sessions were just a half an hour. I was exhausted. Now I work out for an hour and a half, with energy! I was tired all the time when I started. She put me on vitamins. Karla was patient and I worked hard. I just kept doing what she said. After a few months I started seeing results. Karla then put it up a notch. She was always asking about my nutrition. I was really surprised when it all came together and I could stand there in that swimsuit. I have lost 4 dress sizes and have 14% body fat. My goal is to get stronger and keep fit. My marathons have improved too. I am a lot faster with a lot more energy. I don’t feel so beat up afterwards. I would also like to encourage anyone to take the Karla challenge. You’ll be glad you did!
